Pion physics olympiad 2020
PION is an annual interuniversity physics olympiad for bachelor and master students from all over the Netherlands.
Dear contesters and future contesters. As everyone knows, we live in a difficult time and situation right now. First of all, the PION committee hopes everyone is safe and well. Unfortunately, the corona crisis has its effects on PION as well. We received an email from PLANCKS that the event is postponed until further notice. As a reaction to this news, the committee decided to follow PLANCKS’ actions and postpone PION as well. As we are not sure about when PLANCKS will be held, we decided to postpone PION until September 2020 or next calendar year depending on what PLANCKS decides. As for now we will keep everyone informed and updated if we know more. If you have questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Every year PION is organized by a different university and this year the honour is awarded to the NSA, student association of physics, astronomy and mathematics associated to the University of Amsterdam and the Vrije Universiteit. It’ll take place the (DATE UKNOWN DUE TO CORONA) and will be held for the 26th time. In teams of 4 or less, students will compete for a ticket to the international physics olympiad: Physics League Across Numerous Countries for Kick-ass Students (PLANCKS). This will take place in London (DATE UKNOWN DUE TO CORONA). For more information on PLANCKS, please visit their website
During the day we’ll have a speaker as well as dinner and some drinks after the olympiad. Due to practical reasons the event will take place only at the University of Amsterdam in and around Science Park. Sign up here.
